October 2026

Awarded José Castillejo mobility grant

I have been awarded a José Castillejo mobility grant for a research stay at the Department of Language and Literacy Education (LLED), University of British Columbia, Vancouver, from 1 February to 31 May 2027.

The stay will support collaboration with Ron Darvin and strengthen research links between UBC and the University of Seville.

Research focus

The planned research examines how language teachers make pedagogical decisions in their interactions with AI, and how these choices relate to digital literacies, identity and professional learning.

The work includes a planned comparative component across UBC and the University of Seville, with the aim of developing shared methods and research outputs that can inform language teacher education.

This collaboration connects with my wider research on language teacher education, digital literacies and AI and language education.
